The most vulnerable part of Ella’s Part 2 is her admission that many of the people who cheered for her online wouldn’t stand with her in person. Former colleagues distanced themselves. Friends grew tired of her “movement.” She learned that being a symbol is a solitary job.
It is easy to be a "beauty queen" when the lights are on and the cameras are flashing. It is much harder to be a public servant when the venue is a humid gymnasium in a remote barangay. Ella has shown up. Repeatedly. And in doing so, she is building a reputation that relies on trust rather than just hype.
